Overview

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Accounting and Consolidations, to help lead and manage the daily operations of our accounting department strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and overseeing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. This role requires maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, while also providing valuable insights into the company’s financial performance. The Manager, Accounting and Consolidations, will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and play a key role in shaping the organization’s overall financial strategy.

 

You will

       Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned accounting areas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of business events, transactions, and initiatives within these areas.

       Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues, providing recommendations for the treatment of new transactions and drafting accounting memoranda.

        Ensuring policies and processes are well documented, applied consistently, and broadly understood.

       Manage and ensure timely completion of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, and support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis to aid decision-making.

       Supervise balance sheet reconciliations and business process controls to ensure continuous compliance with SOX 404.

       Prepare financial disclosures for inclusion in quarterly SEC filings.

       Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation and support are provided.

       Identify opportunities for process improvements and work closely with the ERP engineering team to implement automation initiatives that enhance and streamline accounting workflows.

       Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support to foster their professional growth.

        Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

        Occasional travel may be required as needed.

 

You have

       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).

       6+ years of relevant accounting experience, with exposure to both public accounting and industry sectors.

       In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance, expertise in financial reporting standards, excellent project management skills, and experience in fast-paced, global public company environments.

       Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing and motivating a team.

       Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

       Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to efficiently manage tight deadlines, while being a team-oriented self-starter who thrives under pressure and effectively handles workload and relationships.

        Remote employees should confirm that the internet service available has adequate bandwidth to support all work processes.

 

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($101,300-$131,250). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
